I just want you to know that I enjoyed teaching with Gert for many years. She was first grade and I was kindergarten so we had many connections over the years. Gert had a great since of humor and a wonderful smile. We had many tales to share of our students. ALSO, Gert and I traveled together to attend the Rose Bowl game and parade in California. I don't recall the year but believe it was around 1974-6. We had a GREAT time together and did many other interesting things while in the area. I had contacted her about our South Shores Retirees luncheons when she was still in the area but she never attended.

I'm sorry to read of Gertrude's passing. She must be in Heaven with the Angels in song. I learned and enjoyed our visits when I was growing up, whether it be at Boody Grade School or at the High School in Blue Mound.
